# The Packaging Playbook

Turn one Stage 3 workflow into one finished, priced offer in a weekend.

## Step 1: Pick your path

| Your situation | Path | Your output |
|---|---|---|
| Job hunting or changing careers | A — Career capital | Portfolio piece + interview answers |
| Clients or a firm pay you now | B — Practice revenue | New deliverable or service line |
| Employed, want side income | C — Side income | One fixed-price freelance service |

My path: [A / B / C]
The workflow I am packaging: [WORKFLOW NAME FROM STAGE 3]
What it produces: [THE DELIVERABLE]
Who wants that: [SPECIFIC BUYER OR EMPLOYER TYPE]

## Step 2: Write the one-sentence offer

Fill in: "I deliver [DELIVERABLE] for [BUYER] in [TIMEFRAME] for [PRICE / or 'shown in my portfolio']."

If the sentence needs a comma-spliced explanation, the offer is not ready. Cut until it stands alone.

## Step 3: Build the package (by path)

**Path A.** Build the three artifacts in the Portfolio Project Specs. Then write three 60-second interview answers, one per artifact: problem, what you built, the numbers, what you would change. Sample positioning line for a teacher moving to instructional design: "I rebuilt my lesson-prep process and cut it from 5 hours a week to 2. Here is the case study and a sample module."

**Path B.** Name the deliverable in client language. Examples: "Monthly cash-flow memo with your close" (accountant). "Flat-fee demand letter, 5 business days" (attorney). "Six grant submissions per quarter" (grant writer). Draft a 3-sentence pitch to existing clients: what is new, what it costs, why now. Check professional rules on AI use and confidentiality before you pitch.

**Path C.** Write a service description under 100 words: deliverable, turnaround, price, what you need from the client, one revision included. Sample for a military spouse: "I rewrite your resume for one specific job posting. You send the posting and your current resume; I deliver in 3 days. One revision included. $[X]."

## Step 4: Price it

Use the Pricing Worksheet. Compute your floor. Check market comparables. Pick a number. Write it here: [PRICE]. Path A skips price and writes the time-saved numbers instead: [BEFORE] → [AFTER].

## Step 5: Set the ship date

Offer finished by: [DATE — within 14 days]
First pitch / application / listing sent by: [DATE — within 21 days]

## Step 6: Disclosure check

- [ ] I know my profession's or employer's rules on AI use
- [ ] No confidential data goes into tools that train on inputs
- [ ] I review every output before it ships; my price includes that review
- [ ] (Path C) My employment contract allows this

An offer that exists beats a better offer that doesn't. Ship the rough version, then revise after real responses.
