About VetsLearn

Practical skills. Careful judgment.

Free AI self-study for service members, veterans and military families. Learn to ask clearly, check the evidence, and turn a draft into work you can stand behind.

Our purpose

Make AI useful in the work ahead.

VetsLearn is maintained by Soldier Data LLC in Lacey, Washington. Its public curriculum connects AI fundamentals with professional tasks, application development and leadership decisions.

The military and veteran focus gives the examples a starting context. The skills apply across roles: administration, logistics, career transition, technical work and team leadership. Military spouses and other learners can use the same public material.

How learning works here

01

Learn by doing

Lessons pair explanations with practical exercises, acceptance criteria and reflection. Keep the work you create as evidence of your learning.

02

Check consequential claims

An AI draft needs source checking, calculations or tests. Verification is part of the work, rather than a final disclaimer.

03

Build at your own pace

Begin with Foundations, then choose applied, technical or leadership material that matches your experience and goals.

04

Know the boundaries

Practice and completion are self-reported. Completion badges are records of learning, not independently assessed certifications.

Trust and availability

Clear about what is available.

Public self-study is available now

Lessons and reference pages are free to read without an account. Public prompt samples are open; a free account unlocks full prompt libraries. External AI tools and APIs may have their own costs.

Formal programs are unavailable

Instructor-led cohorts, SkillBridge placements and VET TEC enrollment or funding are not currently offered through VetsLearn. No schedule, pricing or instructor services have been announced.

Evaluate the material for your context

Lesson updated dates indicate content changes. They do not indicate accreditation or an external technical review. Check linked primary sources and your organization's data-handling requirements before applying examples.

Start with something useful

Read. Practice. Check your work.

The first Foundations exercise uses fictional supplied drafts. You can complete it with a browser, without an AI account or paid tool.
