Facilitation guide

Facilitation guide

For an instructor, a veteran center or a transition program that wants to run its own session from the public lessons. Free. Nothing to sign.

This guide is a set of pages you teach from. It does not come with an instructor, a schedule or a report. The lessons it points to are the same free lessons anyone can open.

What is in the guide

PageWhat it is
Facilitator primerRead first. How to teach this material plainly, and what you are not doing.
2-hour workshop guideOne session built from Foundations lessons. Objectives, timed agenda, talking points and a participant worksheet.
Workshop slidesTen slides for the 2-hour workshop. Show them in a browser or print them landscape.
Tool demo scriptsFour live demos with the inputs to type and what to check. Run each one yourself that day.

Every page prints. Use your browser's Print command and choose “Save as PDF” or a printer. The slides print landscape, one slide to a page.

The lessons it is built from

The two-hour workshop draws on the first Foundations lessons. Titles and planned minutes below come from the lessons as published.

LessonTitlePlanned readingPlanned practice
Foundations 01What AI actually is10 min15 min
Foundations 02Five useful prompts and how to check them3 min20 min
Foundations 03Prompt like an Operator6 min15 min
Foundations 04When AI is wrong3 min20 min

Foundations 01 is a tutorial-format lesson. It has a chaptered video with captions and a transcript, a “Try it first” step where the learner judges each claim in a flawed draft, and a practice workspace on the page. The workshop opens with that same step. All people and facts in the lessons are fictional teaching material.

What this guide is not

  • Not a program. VetsLearn does not run cohorts, teach sessions or supply an instructor.
  • Not a credential. Nobody is certified or graded. Completion is self-reported.
  • Not a report. VetsLearn sends an organization nothing about any learner.
  • Not a promise. The guide teaches a checking habit. It does not promise a job, a raise or any result.

Before every session

  1. Open each tool you plan to demo at tools.vetslearn.com and run the inputs from the demo script that day. Tools and their data change.
  2. Read the notice at any input that sends text to an AI provider. Use fictional or sanitized input in front of a room.
  3. Print the participant worksheet from the workshop guide, one per person.
  4. Read the “Data current as of” line on each tool aloud when you demo it.
