Focused pathway · Six lessons

Lead & evaluate AI use

Select worthwhile uses, evaluate evidence and govern bounded pilots.

Team leaders, program managers, organizational evaluators and people responsible for adoption.

Before you start
Basic AI verification and familiarity with a work process. No coding required; technical partners may be needed.
Tools and access
A text editor and supplied fictional decision packets. No purchase, procurement action or operational approval is performed.
Your evidence of capability
An options assessment, vendor question set, pilot plan and accountable decision record.
Planning estimate
4 hours 7 minutes of reading and practice. Authored estimate, not measured learner time. Shared foundations and optional deeper study add time.

Six lessons, increasing independence

01–02 / Get started03–04 / Apply independently05–06 / Handle complex work

Each lesson includes a worked example, a separate task, acceptance criteria, review notes and a knowledge check. The capstone combines the skills in a new case.

  1. 01
Select a use case with a real decision and baseline

Prioritize work by evidence, feasibility and consequences.

Get started · 9 min read + 20 min practice

  2. 02
    Understand the complete system boundary

Ask specific questions about data, tools and authority.

Get started · 9 min read + 20 min practice

  3. 03
Evaluate vendor claims with task-specific evidence

Turn promotional claims into inspectable acceptance questions.

Apply independently · 9 min read + 30 min practice

  4. 04
Design a bounded pilot with stop conditions

Plan a trial whose results support a defined decision.

Apply independently · 9 min read + 30 min practice

  5. 05
Plan adoption, changes and failure recovery

Assign ownership beyond the initial demonstration.

Handle complex work · 9 min read + 30 min practice

  6. 06
Capstone: write an accountable AI adoption decision

Deliver a decision packet with options, evidence gaps and conditions.

Handle complex work · 12 min read + 60 min practice

Revisit shared foundations when needed

Adapt the work to your model and tools
Text-only assistant
Use supplied text. Ask for a plan or draft; do not claim browsing, code execution or file access that was unavailable.
Tool-enabled application or harness
Record which tools actually run, allowed files and actions, approval boundaries and observable results. Tools are optional unless the task needs them.
Local or cloud deployment
Inspect inference, retrieval, connectors, logs and storage separately. Use only authorized environments for real data; training fixtures are fictional.
Higher-capability or frontier model
Evaluate the exact task and configuration. Capability does not supply missing evidence or grant permission. No provider ranking or guarantee is implied.
Offline alternative
Use the supplied inputs and inspect the worked example manually. Builder exercises use local deterministic Python. No paid account or live model call is required.

Content revision 2026-10-03. Examples are authored fictional fixtures. Self-review is not independent grading, certification or operational approval.

Your focused learning

Self-reviewed progress stays in this browser. It is separate from general-course account sync and does not issue a badge. Export a backup to move these records to another browser. Your exercise files remain in your own workspace.

Import merges valid records; it does not replace existing progress.
